The Jargoons

The Sword

A knight's sword, inscribed with the letters JARCOUNCE was discovered at an Old World ruin three decades ago. Like many warriors' artifacts, the sword had quills hidden in a compartment in its hilt, an ancient practice to preserve them before battle. Faced with a decline in noble families, the sword became part of an experiment by the Temple, to create new lineages from old sources. For many years, it was displayed at a museum. Currently, it belongs to the Viscountess Jarcounce, who is considered the rightful owner.

Jargoon I

Jargoon I, 1st Viscountess Jarcounce, was created from quills contained in a sword by the same surname. She was raised by the Sanctuary Temple in hopes of molding her into a model Duchess. However, Jarcounce had plans of her own and began training as a knight. She agreed to a slow metamophosis, after which she discovered her gifted sense of timbre and forewent the knight's path.

She has now settled into the role of court duelist: a fencing and psychology expert employed to judge the character of the accused. Jarcounce's strong moral code, grave-serious air, and career obssession often puts her at odds with others, including her spouse. Regardless, she does care for Lady Evergreen and still visits occasionally.
