The Evergreens

Evergreen VII

Evergreen VII was best known as an angry, often superstitious rabble-rouser. Her entire body was distinctively tattooed in symbols and wards, which she hoped made her invulernable. In an attempt to improve her public image, she headed a tragic voyage along the dead Ocean. It is much of Evergreen VII's mistakes and poor image which inspired her daughter, Evergreen VIII, to pursue her dream of inventing.

Evergreen VIII

Evergreen VIII was a genuis inventor, having created the first experiments in electricity and steam. Unfortunately, Evergreen's career came to an end at age 30, following her physical metamorphosis into the Duchess Alabonsé.

The Duchess was a bitter person for centuries. Burdened by her beastly form, she avoided boredom by simple pleasures and by writing ideas in her journal. She was infamous for her whirlwind of affairs, her tense relationship with her daughters, and her fascination with the Hunt. In her 250 years of life, she had also written four books, dozens of plays, and sponsored various architectural projects, including an interdimensional train through the Lake Sanctimonious.

Evergreen IX

Lady Evergreen is the youngest daughter of the 8th Duchess. She is often energetic and cordial in public, a natural entertainer for her family’s guests. She is mostly blind but also attentive to others, moving at a fast pace and keeping track of multiple happenings at once. Her favorite topics are: food, various sports, and the scenic outdoors, where she spends time often.

In the past, Evergreen was regarded as a do-nothing and a bully. After her spouse, Jargoon Jarcounce, started ignoring her, she was humbled and started remedying her behavior. She may be condescending or naive at times, but less self-centered than before. It is still not wise to cross her, as she has both a competitve and a mean streak.

Podswin "Winnie" Wineworth

Winnie is a romantic soul with a deep appreciation of art, aesthetic, and meaning. She often laments that she is painfully average and her life has no direction. Even so, she has apparently dragged her heels all the way to the upper levels of the Alabonsé estate.

She is grateful for her place as Lady Evergreen's valet. Unfortunately, she also has some feelings for her employer and she struggles to ensure they never interfere with her work. Despite everything, Winnie is surprisingly competent as her 'Jeeves', both day-to-day and keeping her out of trouble.
